Elk Township's Annual National Night Out

Elk Police To Institute "Click It or Ticket"

Support for the "Click It or Ticket 2003" Occupant Protection Program was proclaimed by Mayor Terry Ratzell .
Police Lieutenant Milton Sahms, who would direct the program, says it is funded by the Highway Safety Grant of $3,640.
This federally funded grant project will become effective on May 19, 2003. At this time the first of two selective enforcement waves, May 19 through June 1, will commence followed by a two week campaign from November 18 to December 1. The project is designed to reduce the number of fatal and serious injuries sustained in motor vehicle crashes on New Jersey's roadways through the incresed use of seatbelts and child saftey seats. Officers will conduct zero tolerance overtime patrols aimed at enforcing violations of Title 39, with a primary focus on New Jersey's occupant protection laws..
